Drive to Netherlands

Wow, what a drive! Stress levels were off the charts. Driving on the German autobahn requires: a) a very fast vehicle, b) the awareness of a yogi, c) the driving skill of Michael Schumacher and d) the courage of a big wave surfer. At one stage we were driving 170KMper hour and there were cars closing up behind us. My whole being was dedicated towards getting Nadine safely to our destination. Thank fully we made it safely to the Dutch border.

Crossing over the border between Germany and Netherlands was a non event in that there are no check points or anything like that. It was much like going from one New Zealand province to another.

The differences between Germany and Netherlands are obvious. Germany is orderly, efficient and structured, wheres the Netherlands is more creative and bohemium. The Dutch architecture is out of this world. I think the "coffee shops" are working their magic! See for example the picture of the building below. Also check out the three wheel motor bike - crazy!

We arrived at Menne's family house at around 7.00pm (more about this in nex blog). Took us about 3 hours to drive about 400km! Our top speed was 190KM per hour.
