Dear Friends,
Nadine and I depart on our honeymoon tomorrow...almost three years after the wedding day. The belatedness is wonderful, much like when you receive a birthday present a month or so after your birthday.
We will be travelling to Europe, and enjoying the sights, sounds, peoples and cultures of Germany, Holland, France and Italy.
Nadine is particularly looking forward to visiting the grave of Jim Morrison and to discovering the quaint and rustic villages of France. I am especially inspired by the prospect of visiting Tresivio, Sondrio, Italy, where my Great Grandfather (Cesare Crochi) was born and raised before emigrating to Australia.
Nadine has been kind enough to permit me to pack my golf clubs. At this stage the intention is to play six rounds in Europe: one in Holland (with friends Martijn and Victor), three in France and two in Italy. More detail to be provided.
Our trip starts with a stopover in Perth, where my brother and I will be celebrating our respective birthdays with the family at Il Padrino's in Northbridge. The following day, we will be squeeze in a quick 18 holes at The Vines (one of Perth's more famous golf tracks - think Johnny Walker Classic) before departing for Frankfurt.
As I am sure you are beginning to appreciate, the impending adventure is the sort of nightmare that you don't wish to wake up from!
In preparation for the journey, I shall leave you with a short quote to ponder:
And joy follows a pure thought,
like a shadow faithfully tailing a man.
We are what we think,
having become what we thought.
(Dhammapada)
Yours sincerely,
I wish you guys a great, great start of your adventures and i am looking forward reading loads of blog posts. :)
ReplyDeleteDavid: I hope you got my voicemail message. If not: Happy Birthday!!
Simone
Hey Boticelli,
ReplyDeleteif you come any closer to me than 1000 miles and manage not to meet me, I'll never talk to you anymore.
Have a safe trip and call me.
Thomas, Hamburg, Germany
Thomas,
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to get in touch with you for ages but had no luck (are my emails going to your spam folder?). We have a very small opportunity to catch up - today, on route to Netherlands. Can you text me on +6421751112. We will leave Frankfurt around lunchtime and drive North.
Simone,
ReplyDeleteYes, received your lovely message. Thank you! Nadine and I are already planning another trip to Europe that takes in Austria and Switzerland.
